What can I do with a history major?

Do you love history but wondering if teaching is your only career choice? Are your parents asking you for what type of job a history major will prepare you? Are history majors coolor geeks?
History majors at PC are among PC's most visable leaders They are regularly found serving in student government, student organizations, volunteer and outreach programs, and athletics both intercollegiate and intramural. Many are widely traveled having studied abroad on one of the department's study abroad  programs. Academically, they have excelled in the classroom, been accepted for post-graduate study, and pursued successfully a wide array of career paths. And yes, they are most definitely cool!

Check out what all our majors are doing or have done with their lives by clicking this link. Also, the PC Career Services Office has a webpage listing the many career possibilities available to those majoring in history. Finally, you may also contact the department’s Graduate School Coordinator,
Dr. Nelson, for assistance in planning for graduate school.

‘The worst mistake a person       can make is to pigeonhole       him/herself into a forced       outcome. History majors       have the flexibility to take       themselves anywhere and       into any vocation.’
